We're looking for Salford Students who would like to work for Salford SU as a 6-a-Side Organiser (Student Staff). 

  • £13.45 per hour 
  • Minimum commitment of 8 hours per week during term-time, including 5-10pm on a Friday. 
  • Full training provided 
  • We schedule your shifts around your study and other commitments

Students applying must be currently enrolled on a course at the University of Salford for the full September 2026 - May 2027 academic year. This is a paid role with a minimum commitment of 8 hours per week.

 

What will you be doing?

In this role you will:

  • Run the Friday matchday session (5–10pm): setting up pitches, checking teams in, and keeping time.
  • Record match scores, walkovers, and results each week.
  • Handle fixture rearrangement requests in line with the league rules, including confirming new dates in writing.
  • Keep the fixture list and league table up to date.
  • Support Team Captains with day-to-day queries, escalating serious or complex concerns to the Sports Development Lead.
  • Support the Sports Development Lead to continuously improve the 6-a-side league: making suggestions, and implementing changes as agreed.

You do not need any previous experience to apply for this role. We are looking for people who:

  • Are current University of Salford Students (Undergraduate or Postgraduate) for the academic year September 2026 to May 2027
  • Have some experience of football, either playing or offiating, and understand how a 5- or 6-a-side league runs
  • Have good communication and listening skills
  • Have great organisation and time management skills 
  • Comfortable talking to students and difficult topics and concerns
  • Can read and understand new information quickly
  • Are interested in the role and want to learn
