We are very excited to announce that Salford SU has had a rebrand!
Out with the blue and gold and we are all in with the green! The colour green represents vitality and growth, which we feel is important to demonstrate in a brand at Salford SU. We want generations of students to connect with their SU in a way that feels relevant to their student journey. Our two primary colours will also enable us to have continued development with our brand to suit an everchanging student market. In addition to our two primary green shades we have the following secondary shades to add a pop of colour to the SU:
- Red Brick Rust
- Freedom Blossom
- Night Atmosphere
- Worker Bee Yellow
- Irwell Mist
- Crescent White
We were keen for our new colour palette to represent who we are at Salford whilst keeping it fun!
Our new logo also features the lightning bolt icon. It represents our two main brand aims: to empower and connect our students. We also hope it will help students identify where the SU is in both digital and physical spaces across campus and are looking forward to incorporating it into some fun merch. You will also notice the feature of line art throughout our new assets, we want these to represent bringing the Salford community together and love that it will add continuity and unity across all of our SU departments and services.
Across the last academic year we have carried out various research with student focus groups, stakeholder input and officer/staff collaborations. It’s really been a community created brand that we hope is a lot more representative of who we are at Salford SU today. Our aims are to be a lot more accessible, transparent and engaging within our marketing and are looking forward to creating more important engagement across the 2024/25 academic year!
