Practical Session Details
Location
: Sessions are held at Chester Riding School, approximately a 45-minute drive each way. Transport will be provided by the SU from a designated location.
Duration
: Each session lasts 1 hour (based on 4 -6 students attending)
However, this time gets reduced based on numbers (if only 3 students attending the session the time goes to 45 minutes, and 2 people attending goes to 30-minute sessions).
Skill Levels
: Sessions are split into two groups—Beginners and Advanced Riders.
Assessment
: All members must complete a trial session to assess their riding level before being placed into a group.
Facility
: Online registration will be asked of you alongside the assessment on first visit.
Sign-Up
: You must register for each session at least
72 hours in advance
.

Mondays from 2–4 PM

Membership Details
Initial Membership Fee
: £75
This includes:
Access to training sessions
Equipment rental
Transport to and from sessions
Social events
Accident insurance
Session Fee
: £10 per session
(Note: The actual cost per session is £34, but members receive a subsidised rate.)
Payment is required at the time of registration via the SU website.
Limited Availability
: Only
12 memberships
are available due to session capacity.
Can be expanded to
24 memberships
if interest is large enough.
Participation Requirement
:
During the
first academic term (October–December)
, members must attend
at least 50% of sessions

Failure to meet this requirement may result in your place being offered to another student in the next term.
