WHO ARE WE?: Almost Famous is a theatre company dedicated to having fun whilst putting on incredible shows which showcase our talented members. We strive to make performing arts inclusive and accessible to all, as well as providing a social and safe environment for our members. We can't wait to welcome everyone into our society, including performers, lighting and sound engineers, costume and set designers, and stage and production managers and much more! DO I NEED EXPERIENCE TO JOIN?: We welcome all abilities into AF. You don't need any experience to join! The group is a place to improve your skills, grow confidence and make friends for life! SHOWS & PERFORMANCES!: This year, AF will be putting on a number of shows including the play ‘Macbeth’ and the musical ‘Anything Goes’. As well as this, we will also be putting on our annual "Winter Showcase" and “Summer Variety" shows! THE AUDITION PROCESS: You do not have to audition to be part of the society - auditions will be held individually for each show. Breathe. Be yourself. Do your best. Chances are 50+ people are feeling exactly the same way as you do while waiting to audition. Support each other, we don't expect any Oscar-winning performances, just have fun! I’M A FIRST-YEAR... IS THERE A CHANCE OF A MAIN ROLE?: Of course, there is! We have had so many impressive first years come along and snatch a main role in the first semester, so go for it! Roles are earned and are given to those who show the most potential during the audition. We look for talent, enthusiasm, confidence, and commitment! SOCIETY LIFE: Our Social and Wellbeing Officers are here to help with anything you are dealing with as we all know how hard it is being away from home and dealing with new situations on your own. Something wicked comes to the New Adelphi stage… Macbeth! Exploring the tragedy that befalls when man’s greatest weaknesses is their obsessive pride, join AF in this devilish adventure. Show dates: 12th-14th February 2026! March 2026 - Anything Goes! The world has gone mad today? Well, all aboard the SS American and watch on at the spectacles right before your very eyes. From Showgirls to Sailors, Gangsters to Lords, Anything Goes is sure to be a barrel of laughs. Show dates: 6th-7th March 2026! May 2026 - Summer Variety Summer Variety gives members one last time to shine on stage for the year!
