We are the DJ society and we provide Open decks nights, music equipment, tuition, and good vibes to our members. Every level of experience is welcome: from those with some experience looking for new opportunities, to complete novices who want to give it a go! Our Open Decks Nights are held on campus every Monday from 8pm -10pm in the Rosa Parks Room, University House. These weekly sessions are a great way to show us your music tastes/mixing and meet other student DJs. Got new music you want to play? Practicing for an upcoming gig? Or just starting out? Then our open jams are exactly the thing for you! We provide Pioneer DDJ400s and FLX 4s DJ controllers with rekordbox/serato. We also have our own PA system and 2 Bass Subwoofers, (to get a quality audio experience) as well as disco lights. The Rosa Parks space is divided into 2 rooms, so that you have a choice of 2 different set ups including one side being used for private tuition if needed. Using our funds we also book sessions at Pirate Studios once a month to let the members experience a professional studio setting with industry level CDJs which is always fun and exciting! We have put events on in the past at local venues such as Old Pint Pot, and Amber's Club in Manchester.
