Over my time at uni i've found that the best ways to stop that feeling of loneliness is by taking myself out on solo dates. From exploring the city or going to an event it really helps you to fight those inner negative thoughts and brightens your day. Sometimes there's a lot of pressure to socialise with others to combat these feelings, but this article is all about how just getting out the house and being around others can really help (even if you're doing the activities alone)!
Here are my top solo date ideas around Manchester and Media City.
(And of course all of these activities are either free or can be done on a student friendly budget!)
Museums and Exhibitions
Theres loads of FREE museums to explore around the area. Such as:
- The Manchester Art Gallery (Mosley Street)

Why not set yourself a fun task of exploring new shops around northern quarter, there’s plenty of hidden gems. And a cheeky coffee in one of the many cafes cant hurt either!
