With all the talk about elections, what have your student officers' been getting up to this year?

With all this talk about upcoming elections, have you ever wondered what our SU officers actually get up to?
Well wonder no more... here are what some of our current officers have been doing this academic year and what you could be doing next year!
What Has Megan been up to?
Our Health and Society Officer Megan has worked with students in her school to gain insights on experiences on placement and will be feeding this back to senior university on how to improve them. She has also advocated for disabled students and is highlighting the challenges they face.
What has Sheba been up to?
Our Arts, Media and Creative Tech Officer Sheba arranged neurodiversity education workshops within her school to better educate and inform university staff on the challenges students from this community face. She has also been closely involved in improving the support provision for Postgraduate research (PGR) students too.
What Megan and Sheba Have Been Doing Together?
Megan and Sheba have been working on improving SU visibility and presence at Frederick Road and MCUK. They have also played a crucial role in driving forward plans for the SU to be more visible beyond the Peel campus and have worked with SU colleagues and university staff on ensuring that students can see the SU as a pop-up in these places.
What has Hina been up to?
Our Science, Engineering and Environmental Science Officer Hina has being lobbying for bidets in bathrooms across campus and overall improved accessibility in these spaces. She will be doing more work on industry collaboration to ensure that modules taught at a school level are better reflective of industry practice.
What has Ali been up to?
Our Buisness and Law Officer Ali has been working with colleagues in the Business School to ensure that there is a provision for a social space, where students can relax between classes. Ali has also been advocating on behalf of international students who have arrived late in January and working to ensure they received the support they need even if they missed their induction.
What Ali and Hina Have Been Doing Together?
Ali and Hina have both been working on ensuring that there are prayer areas and wellbeing across campus, and that students can access these spaces without walking long distances.
What has Akinwale been up to?
Our President has been working to ensure that the My Salford App was launched and has ensured that the student voice is channelled in this area.
All of our officers have been amazing this year and made our campus the best place to be!
